Tom Hardy embodies that in his new film “The Bikeriders,” which tells the story of a Midwestern motorcycle club's evolution into a vicious gang and is based on the 1967 photo book of the same name.
“Extra”'s Melvin Robert spoke with Tom, who has been linked to the upcoming “Knives Out 3” movie.
Apparently these are just rumors, though!
Setting the record straight, Tom said the rumors are “completely false.” He added: “The first I heard about it was on Google.”
In The Bikeriders, Tom shares many scenes with co-star Austin Butler, where they play close friends.
Austin recently shared that Tom was the funniest guy in the group. In response, Tom said, “Bless him.”
Tom raved about Austin, saying, “Austin is funny…Austin is a very fast guy, very smart, intelligent, a beautiful talent, but he's very smart…He has the ability to do his job but also keeps his ears and body open to what's out there.” Running around. He's rude too.”
Austin was one of the reasons Tom joined the cast. “It's a quality piece,” he commented, “Jeff [Nichols]Austin Quality, Judy [Comer]The team… the quality of everyone. Michael Shannon. This will pique my curiosity.”
In the film, Hardy plays the “anti-hero” character of Johnny. “I always like a good character,” he said, “one who is multi-faceted, has integrity and decency, is a good person, and at the same time sows the seeds of his own destruction.”
Although Tom rides bikes in real life, it wasn't easy to do so in the movie, due to the lack of ABS brakes! “There's no control over them, they're slippery… It's a beautiful thing, but it's dangerous,” he explained.
The Bikeriders hits theaters June 21.
